BELLRINGING

Bells are rung regularly on Sundays from 10.30-11.00am for the main Church Service. They have also been rung for all major services and special occasions during the year with thanks to our ever growing dedicated band of ringers under the direction of William Carew (Bell Tower Capt.). We currently have 15 regular ringers, aged 15-80 who come from as far afield as Kingsteignton and Albaston, as well as local villages, to ring the bells at St Martin's.  Our band includes students, farmers, salesmen, nurses, builders,  and housewives as well as retired people - as you can see, there is no 'rule' on who can ring!

What is so special about bell ringing?  Many who ring feel they have been 'called by the bells' and consider ringing their outreach ministry and contribution to church life.  Bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and helps keep you fit... it also makes a glorious sound!

Practice nights on a Thursday are always well attended. Anyone interested in learning to ring the bells is welcome to come along on a Thursday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm where you will be sure of a warm welcome.
