Music at St Martin's
Although solid teaching from the Word and prayer are fundamental to St Martin's, music holds a very special place in our hearts. With it, we express our worship of God in a way that words alone cannot and, more often than not, it is during worship that we also hear from God.
We have two main approaches to sung worship at St Martin's - traditional hymns and contemporary worship music.
The hymns are typically sung by our robed choir during the 9.30am Morning Prayer and 6pm Evening Worship services - though it is not unusual to also hear them in the 11am Morning Praise services - and are usually accompanied by our Choir Director, Chris Howarth on our fantastic Lewis Organ. For more information about hymns and anthems we will be singing in our forthcoming services and the organ specification, click here.
In our 11am Morning Praise and 6pm Praise services, we sing a variety of moden worship music penned by a wide range of well-known artists - as well as some written by our own worship leaders. To find out more about our current repertoire and the songs from last Sunday, click here.
