Easter Sunrise Service
It was a cold start for a few of us as we gathered on top of Caradon Hill at 6am on Easter Morning.
At first we were worried that we wouldn’t be able to see the sunrise, as it appeared that we were in a cloud! One of the children was fascinated by this…and said “I thought you could walk on clouds! But this one is so cold and foggy!”
While we stood shivering on the hill, one of our group wondered how cold it would have been the morning that Jesus’ tomb was found empty.
It was very cold, but more than worth it as the sky started to lighten and we sang Thine be the Glory and prayed over the town, the people, and the day.
What an amazing privilige it was to watch the sunrise that morning. We watched the sun rise as we though about how Jesus defeated death and gave us all eternal life through Him.
As we drove back down the hill, the views of the sunrise were even better! And we caught a glimpse of the cloud that was obstructing our view!
If you get a chance to join us next year, please do! It was definitley the best start to Easter Day!
Luke 24:1-7 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.
