Blaze Kids Club

Blaze kids club
*Please note that Blaze is currently on hold. Check our Facebook page for updates*
Blaze is the most exciting kids club around, where we have lots of fun and meet God!
We have games, videos, crafts, snacks, bible verse games and much, much more!
Our doors open every Thursday in term-time, from 4 – 5.30pm, for school years 2-6.
We have a café with free refreshments for any adults who wish to stay for the duration.
A typical Blaze session will start with the kids doing craft activities on tables in their groups. We then come together for a talk, games and a video before we return to our groups for more crafty fun! The group with the most points earned at the end of each session wins! The session ends with a leader being pied – much to the delight of the kids AND their parents!
Mums, Dads and carers are more than welcome to stay, and can usually be found chatting over a cuppa or two in the cafe area.

Babies & Toddlers

ABC

ABC is our informal babies and toddler group which takes place every Tuesday during term time.  There are two sessions: one in the morning at 9.30am and one in the afternoon at 1pm.  Each session lasts for 1.5 hours but you are welcome to arrive later or leave earlier if you need to.

Parents, relatives and guardians are able to enjoy a break from the daily grind  whilst the children are let loose to play.  There are plenty of colourful toys for the children to play with as well as a book corner, dressing up cupboard and a soft play area.  Activities include a variety of action songs, with one of the grown-ups’ favourites being “See the little bunnies sleeping” (peace and quiet descends for almost 30 seconds when the children all lay on the floor before they are all hopping around again!). Each week there is a craft activity and children proudly go home with their masterpieces.

Adults are welcome to help themselves to tea, coffee and biscuits while juice and biscuits are provided for the children by our volunteers .  There is a warm family atmosphere and many friendships have been forged here – for both children and grown-ups!

Christians Against Poverty

CAP

“For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine” – Isaiah 9:2, NLT

St Martin’s, in partnership with the South East Cornwall Methodist Circuit, Grace Community Church (Morval), Greenbank Community Church (Liskeard) and Light & Life Free Methodist Church (Liskeard) have launched a new Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre, covering the PL10, PL11, PL13, PL14 & PL17 post code areas of Cornwall.

This is a much-needed Christian mission to help those in poverty who are trapped with debt that they cannot afford to repay, whilst spreading the good news.

For more information on what we do, and the impact that our work has in people’s lives, please check out this article from Truro Diocese.

If you are struggling with debt please call 0800 328 0006 to see if CAP can help. Or contact the Liskeard & Looe debt centre manager Hannah Dunne

CAP Sunday is a chance for churches to set some time aside to learn about & pray for the work of CAP.

Sharing bible stories in primary schools

Open The Book

Open the Book is an initiative of the Bible Society, in which church members, working with people from other churches, are invited into schools in teams to perform dramatised stories from the Bible. Our Liskeard team regularly visits Hillfort School, St.Martin’s Primary School and Dobwalls Community Primary School.

If you’re interested in joining the team, please contact us

Find out all about how Open The Book celebrated their 20th anniversary right across the country and join us in giving thanks for the growth of Open the Book.
