Ploughman’s Fundraiser

On Friday 26th May our Church will be hosting the Liskeard Ploughman’s Festival Fundraiser.

This year marks the 10th anniverary of the Ploughman’s Festival; a free music event in Liskeard.

The festival is well known for showcasing local talent, as well as championing local food producers, crafters and traders. Festival goers can enjoy live music as they browse the many stalls selling amazing food and local produce….and, of course, the beer tent!

Previously the festival has been held in Westbourne Gardens, which had public toilets and amenities close by, but this year it will be on the cricket field of Liskeard School (Coldstyle Road). This means that the running costs are higher than previous years due to renting portaloos etc.

The Ploughman’s Festival has always been a free community festival, and in order for it to continue to be free the organisers are holding a fundraiser event in St Martin’s Church on Friday.

The fundraiser event will be a taster of the actual festival, with a bar and live acts performing; including Raikes, Polperro Wreckers, James Shead, Josh Taylor and our very own Niall Dunne!

Tickets will be available on the door for £5, with proceeds going towards the main Ploughman’s Festival which will be held on Saturday 19th August.
