On Thursday, September 5th, we were thrilled to welcome Reverend Mark Wade as our new incumbent.

The church was filled to capacity with local dignitaries and members of the public, all there to show their support for the Wade family and our Parish.

The service, led by Bishop Hugh and Archdeacon Kelly, was rich with symbolic gestures, including the ringing of the church bell—a tradition that suggests the new Vicar’s tenure may be linked to the number of rings. Mark managed an impressive 11 rings!

Leaders from various ministries handed Mark symbols of their roles, inviting him to join them in their work, to which he responded, “With the help of God, I will.”

For those who couldn’t attend, the service was streamed live on our YouTube page, allowing “Watch Parties” in Wigan and across the country to participate in real-time. We are truly blessed by technology that enables us to share such special moments.

Welcome to Mark, Toni, and their family!
