The People’s Emergency Briefing Screening
The People’s Emergency Briefing is being shown in thousands of venues across the UK and in other countries too. Now you have the opportunity to come and watch this 50-minute film at one of two FREE special community screenings here at St Martin’s Church in Liskeard.
The film shows short talks from 8 top independent experts in their fields, looking at how climate change will affect us here in the UK. The experts cover our weather, our climate, the tipping points, our food supply, our health, national security, nature, the economics and energy transition. The first six experts set out the real challenges we face, with the last two focusing on the solutions.
The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, Jennifer Saunders and a range of voices from across the UK.

The film has an age guidance of 16+. Whilst the normal film classification would be 12, the level of global and local threat described means that parental discretion is required for anyone under 16. Since the venue is St Martin’s Church, we will be screening the “bleeped” version to remove the little bit of swearing in the film!
The doors will open 45 minutes before the start of the event with entrance through both the north and the south door. We will serve teas and coffees as refreshments before the film.
Limited parking is available for the event at St Martin’s Church Centre (PL14 3AQ, What3Words: ///throw.signature.barn), on nearby streets, in the town and at Lower Sungirt carpark (What3Words: ///flannel.strays.twitching). Please be aware that there’s a steep walk up to the church via Maddever Crescent from Sungirt carpark.
After the film there will be an open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally.
