Blaze Supper Club

Blaze kids club

Primary school aged children and their families are welcome to join us on Thursdays in term time from 3.30pm to 5pm in the Upper Hall of the Church Centre for Blaze Supper Club!

Blaze Supper Club is a FREE club where families can come and eat together, play games and get creative with crafts. Children must be accompanied by their grown ups.

If you would like to volunteer with Blaze Supper Club, or donate food (soup, beans and pasta are always needed!) please email Karen@smartchurchliskeard.co.uk

During half term, we usually host Movie Monday in the Church from 6pm. This is a FREE event for the whole family, and includes entrance and a bag of popcorn! A tuck shop is also available, so do bring some pennies.

To find out when our next Movie Monday is, please call the church office on 01579 347411

Babies & Toddlers

ABC

ABC is our informal babies and toddler group which takes place every Tuesday during term time.  There are two sessions: one in the morning at 9.30am and one in the afternoon at 1pm.  Each session lasts for 1.5 hours but you are welcome to arrive later or leave earlier if you need to.

Parents, relatives and guardians are able to enjoy a break from the daily grind  whilst the children are let loose to play.  There are plenty of colourful toys for the children to play with as well as a book corner, dressing up cupboard and a soft play area.  Activities include a variety of action songs, with one of the grown-ups’ favourites being “See the little bunnies sleeping” (peace and quiet descends for almost 30 seconds when the children all lay on the floor before they are all hopping around again!). Each week there is a craft activity and children proudly go home with their masterpieces.

Adults are welcome to help themselves to tea, coffee and biscuits while juice and biscuits are provided for the children by our volunteers .  There is a warm family atmosphere and many friendships have been forged here – for both children and grown-ups!

Christians Against Poverty

CAP

“For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine” – Isaiah 9:2, NLT

St Martin’s, in partnership with East & West Wivelshire & Saltash Baptist church, have a Christians Against Poverty debt centre that covers all of South East Cornwall. Local debt coaches work with churches in the area to provide holistic debt help. We also regularly run free money coaching courses to help learn budgeting skills to avoid debt problems.

This is a much-needed Christian mission to help those in poverty who are trapped with debt that they cannot afford to repay, whilst spreading the good news.

For more information on what we do, and the impact that our work has in people’s lives, please check out this article from Truro Diocese.

If you are struggling with debt please call 0800 328 0006 to see if CAP can help. Or contact the South East Cornwall debt centre manager Hannah Dunne

Our Liskeard team regularly visits Hillfort School, St.Martin’s Primary School and Dobwalls Community Primary School.
