Friday 9th May at 7.30pm – An Evening with Graham Kendrick brings together sung worship, using many of Graham’s ‘classic’ worship songs, plus a taste of some new ones, with ‘concert’ segments featuring several of his well-loved performance songs. Graham weaves it all together with personal glimpses behind the meaning and origin of the songs.

Graham Kendrick has been described as a ‘father of modern worship music’ whose songs are ‘crammed full of poetic, divine, biblical truth’ that have ‘sculpted a view of God that has impacted generations.’ In short, Graham writes songs that help the church to sing.

Since the release of his first album in 1972 Graham has been at the forefront of contemporary Christian music in the UK having written and recorded over 450 songs, many of which are sung around the world, including Shine Jesus Shine, Knowing You, The Servant King and Amazing Love.

He is based in the UK, regularly leads worship in his home church and travels widely, as a worship leader, speaker and performer.

He is an active advocate for the charity Compassion International, encouraging audiences worldwide to understand worship as a way of life, and true intimacy with God as sharing in the concerns of his heart and participating in his mission to the world. Compassion operates in over 27 nations and facilitates the support of over 1.3 million children.

Graham was one of the founders and the songwriter behind the global phenomenon March for Jesus, which mobilised millions of Christians to ‘take the walls off the church’ and bring praise, prayer and acts of goodwill and reconciliation on to the streets.

Graham will be accompanied by renowned Harp Guitarist Jason Carter and Violinist Natasha Petrovic

Jason began playing the classical guitar when he was 9 and discovered the harp guitar in 2007. He has a passion for intercultural dialogue and has worked with UNESCO, the British Council and Diplomatic Missions in places such as Afghanistan, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, China, having performed in over 100 countries in total and recorded 18 albums.
